(no subject)

Two more days now until my big move. :]

Currently sorting through all my sheet music, trying to figure out which pieces I want to have until I can have my full collection. Which actually reminds me. I need to practice a lot the next couple of days so my flute doesn't sound like total crap when I practice up there. Especially since I've been neglecting my practicing for too long. Same with my singing.

Probably won't pack my clothing until Tuesday mid-day. Will pack make-up and hygiene items Wednesday morning. Might have to have some of my art supplies and few other things mailed to me. Depends if I can fit the things I want with me into my medium suitcase.

I'm still kind of nervous. Wondering if I can really fit in up there. Also hoping I can find a decent job pronto.  Because honestly, not having one absolutely sucks.  I know that I'm notorious for thinking ahead and being super organized (or at least trying to be).  But I  honestly want to do things right and be prepared.  Like saving money for things in the future and for basic necessities:  my own car (so I don't have to rely on others constantly for transportation), medical emergencies (if I end up breaking a bone or something), basic hygiene items, eventually my own insurance, my own cell phone (since calls from local places up there would be considered long-distance on my current plan - and Mom pays the cell bill, so.... yeah), hopefully a slightly larger wardrobe than the set I'm bringing with me, etc.  Also to help with gas, save for conventions, and basic entertainment every now and then (going to movies, etc).

Ok, enough of the "worry-wart me."  I need to work on getting more things together.  *yawns*  And I'm getting very sleepy.

So Sleepy...

Sooo...  Eight more days to go until the big move.  And I still haven't decided the specifics on what I'm going to take.  >_<

The puppies are huge.  Almost 5-weeks-old now.  Haha, I'll usually take them outside after feeding, and after  they do their business, they all come flocking around my feet.  Hahaha.  They really are  cute....  But they get kind of stinky.  o.O

Also, Jason brought mom's new pc to the house a few days ago.  I can now play Sims 2 and WoW again.  *dances with joy*  Though actually haven't played WoW yet.  Figured I might as well play Sims while I can and wait to continue WoW after the move.

Hm....  Nothing else new really....  Sitting waiting to feed puppies.  (Waiting for them to tell me they're hungry.  Aka cry at me to feed them.)

Soo Tired - Tail End of the Flu

Ok.  So there are a lot of things I need to go over.  Ikkicon weekend.  Having the horrid, horrid flu - aka worst bout of con plague ever.  Valentines Day.  And just a general update.

So Ikkicon this year was awful.  Being incredibly sick with something I never want ever again is awful - I'm at the end of it pretty much, but it still blows.  And Valentines Day was meh.  The best thing out of yesterday was a text from my Dante.  And then the mood was ruined by convention drama about Ikkicon - which I said about half-way through the I wasn't working Ikki 4.  -_-

Anyway, I'll do a full uppdates later.  Just letting people know I'm still alive.

Happy Birthday Hon! - And Puppies Update v.3

Happy Birthday to my David.  :3  I'm still working on your birthday present.  It should be ready to give you by Wednesday in Austin.  :]
(Also, I've never cared about the SuperBowl, if that's a plus, hehe.  The only way I'd care about it even a little were to be if the Houston Texans made it through.  ;P  )  I love you, hon.  :3  *pounces and huggles*

Ok, puppy update.  The one I ran to the vet didn't make it.  I think that was to be expected though...  The others are still good.  They now don't get hungry until 3-4 hours between feedings now, rather than the 2 hours between.  Also, mom and I were worrying about the runt.  He was growing weak, wasn't getting enough food because he couldn't suckle on the bottle hard enough to get anything, and wasn't crying - and he's usually very loud.  So...  We got a small feeding syringe (ugh...  I had that word because it usually applies to needles) and have been feeding him the formula with that.  He's feeling much better and has his little puppy voice back.  :]

Another good thing...  I just got about 6-7 hours of sleep thanks to mom and dad.  :3  I feel sooooo much better, lol.  That, and mom made blueberry pancakes for breakfast.  So I'm nomming on a couple of those now.  I'm almost in heaven.  I just need to be with David now.  XD

Ok.  Back to my meal.  May post if something changes or happens with the pups.  Though that probably won't be until tomorrow or possibly the day after.

Puppies Update v.2 & Bree-mama Passes

Last night was ok.  Took care of the puppies and fed them every 2 hours or so.  Better managed than that Wednesday night.  Kept that up.  Eventually took mom to work.  Came back home and checked on Bree.  She was huddled in the back of her dog house looking worse than the day before.  I called dad , who was coming back from his "work-out," and told him that she need to see Dr. Bennett, the local vet.  I'd also noticed she hadn't eaten any of the food I'd set out for her the day before, and I doubted that she'd drank any water either.

I kept taking care of the pups and taking mini naps when I could.  Dad finally took Bree to see Bennett.  I told him about the other black pup (not the runt).  She'd been bloated and seemed full most of the time.  Always fought with the bottle.  She didn't drink from it...  But she wasn't "using the restroom" either.  So I went ahead, took an abbreviated shower, got properly dressed, and took the litter to Bennett's to meet up with dad.

Bree had an infection - I don't know what kind - and the vet gave us some tablets to give to her.  She was skin and bones, and weak from the puppies and was probably freezing, mainly because dad wouldn't let mom and I bring her inside.  Bennett checked on the puppies, said they looked well.  I pointed out the bloated one.  He gave her a small cathader, trying to see if air would come out - yellowish liquid came out.  He took her to the back and gave her a larger cathader and only got milk/formula out of her.  Then gave her a small shot and some mineral oil laxative to see if that would help and sent us home.

I decided to stop by Nuran's and introduce them.  (She loves animals and at one point went to vet school for a little while, though never graduated - and she's helped at/with several kennels.)  Nuran's also agreed to take care of them tomorrow when mom and I go to Waco for some supplies I've needed.  I brought the pups back home.  Set them back on the heating pad, etc.  Then went to check on Bree, since dad got back home before I did.  She'd laid down behind her dog house.  I got one of the tablets in her with a little water to wash it down.  Also heated up some chicken broth, mixed it with her food to try to feed her.  She wouldn't take it or any more water.

Went back inside to feed the pups.  The bloated one had been crying in pain, even when the others were sleeping.  She also started having problems breathing, rasping a little at the same time when crying.  After I finished feeding the puppies it'd gotten a little worse.  I called the vet telling them I was bringing her back.  Called mom and dad, told them what was going on.  Called work, told them I'd probably be late coming it and told them the situation.  I got her to Bennett's and they're keeping her over-night.  The "secretary" didn't tell me anything else other than that and to call back in the morning.  So I'm going to call before taking the other pups to Nuran and going to Waco.

Came back home, laid down and dozed for about 30 minutes.  Got up, got dressed for work, and fed the other 5 and headed to work.

I think right before, or right after, my lunch I texted mom asking about Bree.  Didn't get a reply.  Then I called during my last break.  She said the puppies were doing good.  Didn't answer my question about Bree, when I'd asked if she was ok, and if she was eating or drinking anything.  But she said she'd talk to me when I got home...  I told mom to tell me and guessed the obvious answer.  Mom told me she'd found Bree dead when she'd got back home from work.

She's the 3d one in less than 2 years.  Night passed around October/November my first semester at Sam Houston (fall 2007).  Sandpiper passed a month or two right after.  Then dad brought Bree home in the back of his truck the morning I was getting my stuff together to go back for the spring semester, and I think she was only a month and a hlaf, maybe two then.  Night lived to be about 14/15 years.  Sandpiper was probably closer to 10.  Bree was only about 13 months.  So...  She's with all the others that dad was burried out in the same pasture.  With Sandpiper, Night, Sugerfoot, Dog, Jake, and the others dad's had, except for Sam and Black Diamond.

Bree gave us a good litter.  I hope the little bloated one is ok.  I guess we'll find out in the morning.

Puppies Update

So...  Yeah....  They can't stay with Bree.  Left them with her for about 4 hours.  She wasn't feeding them, keeping them warm, or anything really.  Then again, she's very weak too.  It's all pathetic to watch her walk around and such.  And it's been too cold.  I hope she's going to be alright.

The puppies are doing very well.  Easier to manage now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing with them.  Hahaha, there an adorable little bunch.  The runt's probably the loudest.  They're funny right after feeding.  Some of them, still trying to root around a bit - even though they'll eventually kinda reject the bottle once they're "full" - they run right into each, burrow into each other's side etc.  The runt was trying to embed itself between 2 of the brown ones.  Then the biggest pup already had its head stuck under one of the other brown puppy's belly.  Lmao.

Anyway, I'm gonna take another 2-hour nap.  Maybe mom will do what she did yesterday morning.  Feed them around 5 am and the right before I take her to work, so that maybe I can catch a few more Z's before heading to the doctor to have my hands checked out.  (The tops of my hands have broken out due to I-have-no-clue-what.  So that ought to be fun.)

Puppies

My Bree-"puppy" has her litter of puppies.  There were 7 of them.  But since we didn't know she had a 7th last night until Angela and I found it dead in her dog house this morning.  Probably froze to death, since the temp dropped to the low 20s last night.  So, it's been burried.

Mom and dad brought the 6 they knew about inside last night and mom and I fed them with puppy formula from a couple of tiny pet bottles.  They're doing well.  They're kind of a rowdy bunch.  >_<  I've already decided that I like the runt the most.  It's black with a white patch of its chest and a white stripe down its nose.  It's a stubborn little thing too, lol.

Angela and I also set you carpet padding and old towels out in the dog house and put the puppies back with Bree, since she was having separation anxiety after we took the dead one away.  She at least trying to keep them warm, which is good.  I'm probably about to go and check on the here in a few.  Apparently, we still have some old hay from the Halloween "haunted house" we used to have here at the house across the street.  So I'm going to insulate the dog house with that a bit.  A good layer of hay may help.

Though I thought I was going to go crazy last night.  Apparently they're going to cry here and there no matter what.  But I'd tried feeding them more when they'd cry, and they didn't want to take it.  Kept about 2-3 towels plus a bit of carpet padding to keep them warm.  And a towel with Bree scent to see if that would comfort them.  But they kept crying until I went to get mom and see what she could do, if anything else.  It worked.  So everything's good now.  But I kept thinking that I was doing something wrong...  So...  Yeah...  Six little puppy voices almost all night.  *sigh*

Anyway, gonna go check on them.  Ja.

Ani-Idol at Ikki is GO!

:3  Super big hugs to Alice, Ken, and Mike.  (Even though Ken and Mike can be super silly sometimes.)

So...  Friday 7pm-9pm.  Two rounds.  Which means I need to choose wisely.

"Houki Boshi" is out.  Replacing it with "Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line" from Chrno Crusade.  I'm thinking about doing a repeat of "Kirari Sailor Dream" (from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) to make it up to David.  Sincet that was the first he'd heard me sing, and I blew it.  Or...  There's "Get Along" from Slayers, or a repeat "Give A Reason" from Slayers Next.  For both songs, I want them to be strong with a good beat.

Hehehe...  *excites and dances*  Soooooo Haaaappyyyyy.  XD

Apparently there isn't going to be one this year.

I'm soooo not a "happy kitty."

My "happy bubble" has been busted...

>_<  I want to sing, dammit....

Oh well...

Getting Ready for Ikki

Ok...  Well, I've down to 5 song choices.  One of the 5 I've already chosen.

Current choice list:
"Houki Boshi" - Bleach (locked)
"Be My Angel" - Angelic Layer
"God Knows..." - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu'utsu
"Give a Reason" - Slayers Next
"My Heart Iidasenai, Your Heart Tashikametai" - Ah! My Goddess

Argh!  It's so hard to choose.  But I think it all comes down to which 3 I can remember the lyrics to and develop the quality I want during my practicing.  And I might not make a final decision until a week before the con.  In the previous two "competitions" I've been in, I easily got into finals.  Came in 3rd at SJ, but didn't make top 3 at AF.  This time I want to get either 3rd again or 2nd, or even better, 1st.  That means being a bit more prepared and overcoming that initial "fright" a bit faster.  Also keeping up a good stage presence and probably conjure up some sort of more active movement (maybe dancing) when I sing.

As said, "Houki Boshi" is locked in place, and that'll probably be my 3rd round song.  I'm thinking "Give A Reason" as my 2nd.  This was my 3rd round song at SJ (which turned into fail because I forgot the cue to the second set after the first chorus >_< ).  Then perhaps "My Heart" for 1st.  They're all upbeat, strong songs.  I think I'm most familiar with the lyrics and patterns of the three.  "God Knows" is also a strong choice for me.  It was one of the songs I did back-up vocals for when AME (Animated Music Ensemble) got to play at A-Kon last year.  And if I had to replace either of the first two most-likely choices, this would be the song I would go with.  "Be My Angel" is also very good.  But it has a lot of ups and downs.  And I'm not familiar with the second set after the first chrous, because I've only ever heard the TV version of it.  (I know, that's really kind of fail...)  Yeah, it's super up beat, peppy, and very fun.  But I'm not sure I can trust myself with that one as much as I can with my other choices.

So...  My plan:  Keep on practicing.  In a week from now, I'll record all five onto a cassette tape (because that's the best I have in any sort of audio recording equipment, because I'm just lame like that), and I'll check out the quality, see what I need to work on, etc.  More practice affterwards to shape them up a bit.  A week after recording myself, I might get one or two of my friends to listen to me and see what they think.  After that, back to practicing until Ikki.

Anyway, I've seriously gotta crash.  I've procrastinated enough as it is, and I have work tomorrow.  (Stupid morning hours shift.)  Night.

Jan. 8th, 2009

(no subject)

Well, Mom and I signed up for membership at the local Curves today.  We officially start working-out tomorrow.  We'll be going at least 3 times a week.  That and we're eating healthier.  I'm writing down everything I eat and drink to keep track, and also to help cut back and be more wary of what I put into my body.  Also taking my vitamins again, which will hopefully help me not to get sick as often, whether it's allergies and convention plague.

Finally bought a new calendar.  Just finished filling in birthdays and known convention dates, etc.  Haha, I'm such a dork.  I've got everything in here color coordinated too, divided work schedule, birthdays, convention dates, other events and appointments, etc.  Being a little bit more organized shouldn't hurt too much.

Also trying to get a set-list together for Ikkicon.  I still don't know what I'm going to sing.  o.o  That and I haven't been able to practice much until just now because of my being sick and having a sore throat.  (Can't remember if I mentioned all this in the last post or not.  >_< )

My current choices:
"My Heart Iidasenai, Your Heart Tashikametai" from Ah My Goddess
"God Knows" from Suzumiya Haryhi no Yuu'utsu
"Give A Reason" from Slayers Next (again)
"Houki Boshi" from Bleach
"Platina" from Cardcaptor Sakura
"Kirari Sailor Dream" from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (again)
"Yakusoku" from Love Hina
"Be My Angel" from Angelic Layer.

I think I can only have 3 choices, and then a possible 4th for back-up.  I'm looking forward to being on stage again.  Hopefully I'll have a better stage presence, hehe.  :3  But I also need to build my lungs back up.  And I know exercising will help my breathing too.

Anyway, I'm sleepy now.  Have a busy day tomorrow. ...Er... today, lol.  >_<  It's past midnight.  Night~

Jan. 3rd, 2009

Because I couldn't log 2 days ago...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Ok....  Got that out of my system.  XD

Anyway...  2008...  Long year.  Crazy year.  Resigned from Sam Houston State University.  Added a good handful of conventions to my list.  Made tons of friends.  Lost a few.  Found love.  Found work.  Attempted to straighten out school issues... and failed miserably.  Overcame a bit of stage fright.

For 2009...  I have no earthly idea.  And I'm not making resolutions that I'm not going to keep in the long-run.  Though I never said I wouldn't at least try to: build better eating habits and lose some weight, perhaps get back into school and learn how to get my work done, build some good exercise habits, learn how to prioritize more efficiently, get the Hell out of Mexia (fucking black hole), add more and more pieces to my sketch book, practice my music on a more regular basis, etc.

Overall idea:  There's definitely room for improvement.  Hopefully this year I can get off my ass and actually work on that rather than sitting on it the entire time and keep procrastinating.  I need to stop being so lazy.  I'm off to a bit of a late start, but now's better than never.  Once again, I need to "knock down hesitation."

And to actually make this an update...  Er...  Got laid off from Hibbett Sports.  The bastard manager hired so many employees and didn't have enough hours to give out.  Corporate is cutting hours too.  Sooo...  Since I wasn't getting hours in the first place (due to out-of-town trips, etc.), I was one of the three they let go.  Fucking sad, isn't it.  They don't know how to manage their own business in a more efficient and less wasteful manner.  Anyway, good riddance.  I need to find a full time (that's not HEB) anyway.

By the way, bringing back the topic of art (adding to the sketch book, etc).  I need to start working on things to just sell in art shows/auctions at conventions.  I'm definitely not the best...  But I remember my bro saying a few years ago that I can do a lot better than things he's seen at A-Kon's art show/auction.  That would also mean I'll need to look into frames, backing, ect.  But it may be a good thing to look into.  Now if only I can get back into the clean-cut style I had in high school, rather than my current super-sketchy, slap whatever onto paper style, hehe.

Ah, Ikkicon's coming up in a month...  Kind of a scary thought seeing as I'm supposed to be taking on a task with a bit more responsibility this time around.  I also need to put in to take the time off for it at work.  Then find a few songs to perform, if there's going to be a competition again like last year.  What I'm looking forward to the most is seeing my David again.  :3  A month (both ways - behind and ahead of the current date) seems like forever, and it's driving me nuts!  *sigh*

Ok...  I've been fighting back yawns for about an hour and a half...  Think I'm about to crash.

Guess I'll also throw in that I've been sick for about 2 weeks.  Was sick as a dog on Sunday (12/28).  Got sent home from work.  But have been sneezing, coughing, coughing up yuck stuff, and have had a stopped up/leaky nose the entrie time.  Actually...  Since getting back from Oni-Con...  >_<  Maybe extended con pague?  Cosmic (fellow A-Kon [forums] Boardie) thinks so.  He may be right.  I dunno.  All I know is that I want this crap/sick stuff/ whatever the Hell it is gone.

Anyway...  I suppose I'll wrap this one up.  Night.

Getting Ready for Oni-Con

Yes!  First time to work Oni-Con!  I'm wondering what this con will be like, how it's run, etc.  Have to pack tomorrow, update my "convention notebook of doom" (that I haven't touched since AnimeFest), and finish a few more ornaments.

I'm just really excited that I get to work one more con before 2008 ends.  :]  And this'll make it 8.  So far my list overall is:  A-Kon 17, 18, and 19, AnimeFest '07 and '08, Ikkicon 2, San Japan 1.5, and AniMix '08 (promoted SJ).  By the end of 2009 it'll be probably 14 - dropping AniMix, and adding Atsuicon and Anime Wasabi.  *dances*

*sigh*  I really need this weekend though.  >_<  It's like, other than music, anime conventions are one of the main things I thrive on.  Yeah, things get hectic, stressful, and just plain crazy, but I still have a blast.  :3

But for tonight, I think I may try to tackle the rest of Breaking Dawn and finish that read.  Night.  ^_^

A bit too early in the morning...

Ok...  So all last night up to about 5 minutes ago, I though I was supposed to be at work at 7:30 this morning.  Hahaha, wrong.  Woke up at 6:45, took my shower, etc.  Right before I go to head out the door, I go back to the kitchen to circle my shift at Hibbett today.  Didn't even see until after I'd marked on my schedule.  It's reads 8:30am to noon.  -_-  Not 7:30am to noon.  Yeah...  I'm brilliant.  Though I'm kind of happy.  I'm gonna get another 30-45 min of sleep.  :]

I'm a Musical Dork

I just heard a Japanese version/cover of "A Whiter Shade of Pale."  (Originally by Procol Harum in 1967.)  *super amused*

The reason I make such a deal of this is because we (the Mexia High School band) played this every year at the homecoming game as the court walked across the field, until it was time for the homecoming queen to be announced.  I had this song memorized for four years.  And me, being the big band dork I am/was, always looked forward to the one time each year we ever played it.

So hearing Angela Aki's "Aoi Kage" (Pale Shade) was very interesting.  I heard the chords first and finally realized the sequencing.  Then even the melody being sung.  Then at the very end, a verse with the original lyrics were sung in English.  Haha, I even had mom listen to a bit of it.

Yeah...  I'm silly.  But it was still kind of cool regardless, hehehe.
